The Rainbow

- What is it like, Mom, to be
the rainbow?
- I think it's the most beautiful game:
you always run
holding the rain by the hand;
you go around the world
to wake up to life
the earth and the flowers.
Then you herald the light
over the garden in bloom
and you drink water
from the clear river
that passes through our village.

You know, Mom,
I would really like to be able,
at least one afternoon,
to become a rainbow
bent over the village.
